Accounting and Auditing, Master 1 subject

In my opinion, the biggest challenge is combining studying and working. However, this is made much easier for us thanks to the excellent cooperation between the university and employers.

Greta Berndmeyer  – Master of Science

What made you choose this degree programme?

In my opinion, the Master Audit Xcellence programme provides optimal preparation for a career as an auditor and, thanks to its dual structure, can be easily combined with work, not least because cooperation with employers works very well. I chose this programme so that I could continue learning alongside my job and prepare for the auditor exam.

In which respect have or haven’t your expectations been fulfilled?

My expectations have been fulfilled in that learning in a small group is much easier than in a large, anonymous environment. The subjects offered are relevant to practice and are largely reflected in our daily work. Even though the Master's programme places high demands on us, everyone involved strives to make the programme as pleasant as possible so that we can concentrate entirely on learning.

Which aspect of your degree programme do you enjoy most?

Learning in a small group is particularly enjoyable. The content of the individual modules is very well coordinated and is largely relevant to everyday work in auditing. In addition, the professors make a great effort to promote our general education and refer to current economic developments.

What has been your biggest challenge to date?

In my opinion, the biggest challenge is combining studying and working. However, this is made much easier for us thanks to the excellent cooperation between the university and employers. In addition, the course content is very extensive, which makes it difficult at times to concentrate equally on all subjects.

What would you like to become after completing your degree?

Since the master's programme prepares students for the auditor's examination, I am aiming to become an auditor after completing my studies.

Which advice would you like to give to students who consider enrolling in this degree programme?

It is important to be aware that the programme is very demanding and, due to its dual structure, presents a significant challenge. Students should be prepared to invest a considerable amount of time in both their work and their studies. However, for those who are certain they want to become auditors, the programme offers the ideal preparation and, in my opinion, is a very good opportunity, especially for Bachelor's graduates, to deepen their specialist knowledge while gaining practical experience.
