This degree programme is unique, because ...

the degree course lays the foundation for a critical study of traditional and modern China, on the basis of a comprehensive training in modern and pre-modern Chinese language and the basics of the Chinese history, literature and philosophy. In addition, it is possible to combine this RUB subject with the B.A. "Musikwissenschaft" at the Folkwang University of Arts in Essen across locations.

It provides the opportunity to specialise in the following fields
  • Chinese history
  • Chinese literature
